r. Cassidy moved to Ardmore in 1989. He worked for the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation for nine years as a research scientist in the plant biology department.
In 1998, he started Ardmore Biological Analysis which was purchased in 2000 by an Oklahoma City entrepreneur and became DNA Solutions. The new company continued operations in Ardmore due to low overhead and Dr. Cassidy's desire to live and work here. It is one of only two privately-owned DNA labs in the state.

Each lab develops areas of expertise and this lab concentrates on human and animal paternity testing. "We put together families that have often been separated for many years," says Cassidy. "This can change people's lives dramatically. We refer client's to the many wonderful resources in Ardmore equipped for helping them deal with these changes."

Animal paternity testing allows breeding improvements in cattle and deer.

DNA Solutions has also performed some forensic testing on both humans and animals. Dr. Cassidy is currently working on accreditation with the American Association of Blood Banks. Only 43 DNA labs in the nation hold this quality distinction.

Besides being instrumentally involved in DNA Solutions, Dr. Cassidy sings in the Community Chorale, volunteers for the Ardmore Beautification Council, designed the original garden at the Greater Southwest Historical Museum, is a volunteer Naturalist at Tucker Tower, assists at St. Phillips Episcopal Church in the choir and on the grounds. Dr. Cassidy started the Plainview Middle School Discovery Club and teaches gifted and talented science students.

"I like Ardmore because you can truly be a part of the community and make a difference. There are many opportunities in Ardmore," states Brandt.

His wife, Kathaleen, is a physician's assistant. His two children, Meghan and James attend Plainview Public Schools. "Ardmore is a wonderful place to raise children!"
