1974 graduate of Ardmore High School, Dr. Keith Troop attended Baylor University graduating in 1978, Magna Cum Laude. He attended Southwestern Medical School in Dallas finishing in the top 10% of his class.
He began his residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Internal Medicine but switched after one year to Orthopedic Surgery. In addition to the five years he spent in Orthopedic training, he also completed six months of subspecialty training in hip and knee surgery affiliated with Ohio State University. Returning to Ardmore in 1989, he began his practice at The Arthritis Clinic with Drs. Robert Troop, Lloyd McArthur, and Fred Medcalf. He has since performed over 1000 knee replacements and hundreds of hip replacements and Anterior cruciate reconstructions.Although he had an attractive offer to stay in Dallas following his residency, he chose to return to Ardmore because it offered the independence to create the practice that best served the needs of his patients.

As the Rheumatologists of the Arthritis Clinic retired, the Clinic evolved into the Bone and Joint Clinic of Southern Oklahoma.

"I have never regretted my decision to practice in Ardmore. My daily routine is far more efficient and productive than those who must practice at multiple locations in various parts of a large city. I am grateful for the many citizens of Ardmore with enough self-confidence to know their community can attract people who have expertise that rivals any major metropolitan area. I have found some of the most talented people I have ever met, live right here in Ardmore, including other members of the medical profession. I am proud to be here," said Dr. Troop.

He provides lectures for the Dallas Orthopedic review course to prepare surgeons for the Board exam. The new outpatient surgery facility is the only small clinic in Oklahoma to have Digital x-ray. It also has an exercise pool for non-weight bearing physical therapy.

The Bone and Joint Clinic allows doctors to negotiate between surgery and seeing patients more effectively.
